The Glen Keith distillery's exports, initially for blended whiskies such as Chivas, Passport and 100 Pipers, are within sight of its central distillery, the Strathisla distillery, but Chivas Brothers also uses it as a laboratory for innovation in production and processing Experiment, such as developing your own yeast strain. Glen Keith Distillery was mothballed in 1999. Extensive reconstruction work began in 2012 and the winery reopened in June 2013. When the distillery reopens, Chivas Brothers intends to use its annual production of 6 million litres of spirits, almost all for exporting blended whisky
