Ardbeg Uigeadail is bottled at cask strength. The combination of bourbon casks and sherry butts gives this malt a sweet and smoky flavor. Uigeadail is the lake from which all Ardbeg water flows. An absolutely stunning whiskey and with the demise of Airigh nam Beist this probably represents the best value in the core range.

Rich, with heady and smoky aromas. The initial aroma is a captivating blend of warm Christmas cake and walnut oil with fresh ocean spices, cedar and pine needles, followed by the rich aroma of smoky coal fire and leather. The sweetness of syrupy toffee and chocolate-coated raisins brings indulgence to the smoke.

Adding water adds a rich, smoky flavor that's reminiscent of Christmas pudding; black currants and warm toasted banana walnut bread. The taste is rich and intense, with a lovely balance of sweetness, spiciness and deep smokiness. As the Christmas cake begins to penetrate the tongue, it is initially sweet. A burst of spice leads to an explosion of smoky flavor, contrasted by smoky food and molasses, and a stunning length with lingering raisins, a deep and rich aromatic smoke that blends perfectly.
