Chateau Croix Mouton is owned by winemaking wizard Jean-Philippe Janoueix. The Janoueix family is a prominent local family. The entire family owns a total of 20 wineries in Bordeaux. Jean-Philippe, the youngest in the family, is in charge of six of them and is both the owner and winemaker. . The talented Jean-Philippe studied under winemaker Michel Rolland. Michel Rolland is a typical new generation of young winery owners in Bordeaux. He is unwilling to follow tradition. The location of the winery is not a well-known wine village. With his excellent winemaking skills, Jean-Philippe Philippe built his own wine kingdom step by step and won the title of Wine Grower of the Year at a young age.
In 1997, Jean-Philippe bought Chateau Mouton, which is located on the Dordogne River plain on the right bank. This place belongs to the Bordeaux Superieur high-quality Bordeaux grade. Due to the name conflict, it was renamed Chateau Croix Mouton. Not only is the name the same as Chateau Mouton, one of the top five wineries, but the wine labels also follow the example of famous wineries, launching M-shaped wine labels with different colors and font designs every year, making the wines more collectible.
