Masahiro Distillery was founded in 1883 and is one of the oldest and largest distilleries in Okinawa. The whiskey is distilled from 100% premium rice and aged in sherry, bourbon and American white oak barrels for over 15 years, giving this exquisite whiskey a rich taste and silky texture. Okinawa's subtropical climate provides warm and humid storage conditions, accelerating the ripening process. This environment creates subtle fruity and botanical flavors with a rich texture that enhances the uniqueness of Ryukyu whiskey.
~Tasting Notes~
Aroma: Dried plums, candied fruits, mint and chocolate.
Palate: Sweet notes of chocolate, vanilla and honey give a pleasant mouthfeel, followed by spice, slight smoke and toasty notes.
Finish: Very smooth, slightly sweet licorice and peppery texture developing into a clean and long finish.
