Laphroaig is matured in seasoned oak barrels, which are charred before filling to impart a slightly sweet vanilla nutty flavour. Laphroaig 10 Year Cask Strength is barrier filtered to remove small charcoal particles only. This means that you can fully enjoy the content we produce without too much intervention. In extreme temperatures and when water is added, it can appear a little cloudy - a natural condition for a peat whisky of such uncompromising purity. Adding a little water will release a rich peat smoke aroma with some sweetness and a strong sea note. Full-bodied and utterly memorable - we like to think it's a purist's choice.
