Pittyvaich Distillery was built in 1974 by Arthur Bell & Sons and is one of Scotland's youngest distilleries. It is located near the Dufftown Distillery in Dufftown. Pittyvaich was originally built to offer blended malt whiskey, which was eventually officially bottled in 1991. The winery was demolished in 2002. This bourbon cask matured Speyside malt whiskey is rich and aromatic with notes of vanilla extract, banana pudding and beautiful waxiness. In the mouth, this waxy flavor is more pronounced along with vanilla, grassy notes, a hint of orange, mint and minerality. The finish is long and powerful with pleasant oak notes.
