"Tao-Five Dao Immortals": Miltonduff 2009 11 54.2% 700ml
The Miltonduff Distillery in Speyside was built in 1824 on the site of an old mill in an abbey called Pluscarden. The Pluscarden Abbey, which fell into ruins at the beginning of the seventeenth century, was restored in 1948 and is now the only medieval abbey still inhabited by monks.
"Five Dao Immortals" fits the story of the winery. Its image is serious and mighty. It is called "Five Dao" in the scale of the world. Good people gain Taoism, evil deeds and wicked people go to hell, and "talismans" are used to suppress evil spirits and drive out demons.
Smell: Raisin and berry jam, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, mature oak, with a hint of grass and mint with water.
Taste: Clearly influenced by sherry barrels, ebony, raisins, black vinegar, sweet oak, cinnamon and other spices.
Finish: Sweet oak with a long, mature finish and a hint of sweet spice.
Comment: The oak base notes make the wine feel mature, thick and intense, with a high degree of maturity.
