Batch 318, September 2021, is the sixth in the Wolfburn Small Batch range, consisting of the lightly peated spirit aged for seven years in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks and first-fill bourbon casks. A blend of seven years old spirits.
There are only 4,800 bottles in total. A sweet, round and luxurious whiskey with unparalleled richness of flavour.
Nose: Figs and apricots mixed with soft peat smoke. There are also hints of vanilla and oak.
Palate: The depth of flavor is tremendous. Honey porridge with stewed apples and raisins. The peat brings a hint of heat, along with soft oak spices of cinnamon, clove and ginger – capped by a wonderful sherry sweetness.
Hints of dried fruit and caramel remain until the end, subtly overlaid with a hint of lingering peat smoke.
